The City of Santa Monica's Landscape Rebate Program is currently closed for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Pending council budget approval, the new program will start Monday, July 3, 2017. Rain Harvesting Rebates are still available!
Follow these easy steps to your landscape rebate
You may earn up to $4,500 after removing turf and sprinklers from your yard. Your yard is defined as your front, back and side yards. You may claim $3.50 per square foot of lawn removed and replaced with climate-appropriate plants and mulch. Trading out your lawn for artcial turf does not qualify. This is a reimbursement rebate program. New developments, new construction, major remodels not eligible.
The parkway is the area between the curb and the sidewalk. This rebate is designed to help save our trees during the drought. You may earn up to $1,500 after removing and replacing parkway turf with water-smart plants and mulch. Read How to Help Urban Trees Survive a Drought to ensure the trees continue to thrive. You can claim $3.50 per square foot of turf removed from the parkway. This is a reimbursement rebate program.

Rain Harvesting Rebate
Capturing rain water is a great way to enhance your water savings. When you design your new landscape, consider adding a cistern, rain barrel, or a rain or rock garden. If you do, you can qualify for rebates ranging from up to $200 to $2,000. If you aren’t sure what would be best for your business, let us help. This is a reimbursement rebate program. New developments, new construction, major remodels are not eligible.
Downspout Redirect Rebate
Redirecting the downspout from your rain gutters not only keeps dirty water out of Santa Monica Bay, it saves water. You may get up to $40 per downspout. Projects installed before January 1, 2014 are not eligible. A Flex Elbow must connect the downspout directly to the landscape. It cannot connect to a rain barrel or cistern. This is a reimbursement rebate program.
